    I'm Charlene Shelmire, a content and creative writer with a passion for writing opinion-based articles, inspiring stories, and short fiction. As an aspiring e-Book author who enjoys analyzing Renaissance-era artwork, I've paved a journey to become a freelance writer whose work impacts others. I began many years ago, when my fine arts college professor taught me to closely observe artwork, analyze it, formulate a subjective opinion, and write an art analysis essay. Eventually, I began observing and analyzing movie plots, social interactions, and societal issues. As my observational and analytical skills sharpened, I started incorporating them into my writing sessions, and crafting stories from a subjective point of view. As my desire to create stories increased, so did my writing collection. I created this site for three purposes: (1) to have a creative outlet, (2) to showcase my writing clips for potential freelance writing clients, and (3) to inspire others through my creative words.

  • What Causes Do I Support?

    I started this blog with a mission to amplify the voices of marginalized, disadvantaged groups. By tackling social issues such as racism, hunger, and child abuse, I aim to foster understanding and empathy. Some of my stories serve as a "platform" to advocate for change, addressing these delicate issues head-on from a position of compassion and authenticity. I aim to be a voice for the helpless who lack the strength to speak up for themselves.

    A Glimpse Into My Life

    Originally from Chicago, I now reside in southeast Louisiana, where I continue to nurture my love for writing. Outside of my writing endeavors, I enjoy binge-watching BookTV and After Words episodes, creating inspiring faith-based YouTube videos, and spending time with my hubby and spoiled, energetic Comet goldfish. I also contribute to publications on the Medium and Quora blogging platforms, respectively.
